Solitude

Solitude-Jackson-Hole

Home buyers who want a private Jackson Hole retreat but also want to be close to all the valley’s art and entertainment offerings will find their perfect neighborhood by driving north of town to Solitude. Living at Solitude is a bit like living in the middle of a national park. Wherever you are, you get big mountain views: Look west and you’ll see Tetons; turn your eyes east and you’ll take in the Gros Ventre Mountain Range, including the Sleeping Indian. The terrain is meadows and forested areas, a mix that provides a sense of big open spaces but also a feeling of seclusion. Because Solitude is set in a wildlife corridor, residents see lots of elk, deer and moose roaming around, as well as the occasional bear.

Though homeowners may feel like they’re on their own private ranch, they are still close to all the things that make people want to live in Jackson Hole. The Snake River is within walking distance, and an easement gives private access to Solitude residents who want to crosscountry ski or walk along the banks or spend a day fly-fishing. Solitude borders Grand Teton National Park, making it easy for homeowners to enjoy all the park has to offer. Jackson Hole Golf & Tennis is close by, and this winter it’s offering free cross-country skiing on groomed tracks. Bike path to town.

Historic downtown Jackson is an easy 10-minute drive away when Solitude residents want to shop, dine at a restaurant, attend a performance at the Center for the Arts or browse the art galleries. In fact, it doesn’t take any longer to drive into town from Solitude than from Teton Pines, a popular neighborhood on the west bank.
